BF2 Awards, how does it work?
Hi guys,
You all probable know about BF2 awards. There is something I don't quiet understand, yesterday or the day before I played for like over an hour on the server, but my stats are not showing up in their database. I searched for everyone who uses hslan in their name, and mine is not coming up in the list.

Do I need to register or what? Are the stats send ones a week? Does anyone have a clue on this?

Can't we register our server with it then? Would be a lot more fun to gain medals and stats.

no need to....trust me
Re: BF2 Awards, how does it work?
Gruezi!
IMHO, registering the server on the awards system would probably raise its popularity by 50 percent.
People like getting awards, and let's face it, with the very low level of teamplay on 762, why else would so many players want to be there?
On the other hand, I suppose you don't want too many noobs coming to HSlan...
But more players wouldn't hurt at this stage, or would it?

Re: BF2 Awards, how does it work?
From my point of view, one simple reason for low quality of teamplay IS the award system itself. How can you focus on the needs of your team when you still have to make two knife kills till the end of the round to accomplish the requirements...
Re: BF2 Awards, how does it work?
True, but trying to get achievements will make people play longer and is also more fun. both have there cons and pros. Personally i would be happy if there was a ranking system.

That's right!
Even without award system often players only work for their own ingame stats, not taking care whether the team is crushed. Personally, I'm not intrested in stats. I just wanna have fun and try to teamplay and make my team win.

You raise a very valid point indeed...
Maybe we could set up our own achievement awards, with a close eye on how we expect people to behave on the server. For example:
- Most teamplay points
- Most repairs (one of the big underrated aspects of the game in terms of score... who hasn't spent 3 minutes repairing something to get shot in the butt)
- Best squad
etc.

Re: BF2 Awards, how does it work?
I think the awards are cool in the begin but on the longtime I dunno seems bit boring.
We all get the gold medal if we all have fun.
there is an website how this medal system works?
I get a bronze medal of snipering
Gubaru, I like your idea

Re: BF2 Awards, how does it work?
Hi Doopie,
To answer your question about how it works, the closest I got is if you look at your own medals on the server (http://fh2.bf2awards.de/) and you float your mouse pointer on the medals, it tells you how many points/actions you have to achieve to gain that status.
But to get a gold medal of anything, you have to spend like 100 (!?) hours in a tank, which means you probably need to become a social retard first :0f: (no offense intended to whoever among you already owns a gold medal...).
I even saw a guy once who kept on blowing up the commander radio, before he repaired it and blew it up again, apparently just to go up in teamplay points... Kind of stupid, isn't it?
So an alternative system could make more sense in terms of gameplay, while boosting the popularity of the server.
