Impression of tonight ... Kick Siege of Tobruk
Ola my friends,
Fact: We left last map with 50something players ... and about 20 left when Siege of Tobruk started .... 5 then ... 3 following ... 1 running behind em ... after 15 Minutes: 12 vs 10 ...
Like many of you I have some emotions about that map, played it 276 times with great fun as it had it's charme in 2008 - but it might be time to get it outa Map rotation, as it got a fun-killer: too long, too boring, almost boogiewoogied and a little burdy burdy
Watched that "got-sth-better-to-do-than Siege"-experience quite often now (though it was harder than ever tonight), so that's why I post, cuz we might still have an almost full server tonight ...
Just an impression of this night, regards

In general we have every map in the rotation right now. That means also maps which are not that popular. I still like them.
But I think we will take this serious and discuss about our mapcycle.

Re: Impression of tonight ... Kick Siege of Tobruk
Player count on maps is a very heterogen and multifactorial thing - late time in europe combined with potentially boring map = always bad idea. It's not the map I think - it's the time that map got played. I am sure, around 20:00 euro time, many players can enjoy it.

Re: Impression of tonight ... Kick Siege of Tobruk
For me FH2 has not enough maps to not play them all. Unfortunatly, I dont know why, but the server rotation don't include 4 desert maps. These maps are:
-Invasion of Crete
-Sidi Rezegh
-Battle for Sfakia
-Operation Aberdeen
IMHO, some in rotation are less enjoyable than any of those four (ex: Tunis AKA "genade fest" or Port en Bessin - 16 players ).
I think more variety would be very welcomed by regular crowd without any serious risk to the popularity of the server.

Hi SexBomb,
IMHO Sidi Rezegh is back in the rotation (at least I played it a couple of times over the past two weeks on HSlan).
I kind of miss Operation Aberdeen too - a real Tank fest - but I read somewhere that the map crashed very often?

Aberdeen is not that crashy. It´s just total off the balance. The germans can do what they want they just get raped.
Re: Impression of tonight ... Kick Siege of Tobruk
We are missing Crete in the Rotation btw ..

Just an sugestion.
Maybe some of the maps in 32 players size could be added in rotation. I think very large maps like Mareth Line could be more fun in a smaller format.

The map itself is great. Unfortunately, the bleeding system on Mareth 64 is near inexsistant. When the server is not full, the battle often conclude by timeout, opponents searching each others most of the game.
Anyway, some 32 players version maps could be added in rotation while keeping regular ones.

Re: Impression of tonight ... Kick Siege of Tobruk
Port en Bessin 32 is a waste of everyones playing time on a 64 server, take it out of rotation, bitte.
Theft...is the sincerest form of flattery!
